MMP Food (Yunnan) Co., Ltd. is a joint venture of the MMP Group and Gerber Yunnan and will be referred to as MMP Yunnan or MMPY
This operation has been actively in the growing, cultivation and packing of artichokes for nearly 5 years. There are approximately 8000 acres planted.
The seed and technology were imported from Spain with the help of Spanish consultants so that the resultant product would match the desired quality in the worldwide marketplace.
The old cannery is well past it's prime and the need for a new state-of-the-art facility was necessary to meet the high standards of MMP Group.
MMP YUNNAN (MMPY) is located in the center of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with an elevation of about 1700 meters above sea level. This is an exciting province, boasting a geographically and meteorologically diversified environ. Also known as the Kingdom of Plants, Yunnan proudly braces tropical to subtropical climatic conditions and as the name aptly suggests, makes for an ideal agricultural environment. The near-perfect conditions indeed faster an incredible variety of plants and fungus/mushrooms to grow all year round, in cultivated or natural resources and both yielding produce in excellent quality.
MMP Yunnan has one mission in mind : to help farmers around the area develop the skills and gain knowledge in international artichoke production standard, to produce quality and safety artichoke products that fit with international buyers safety standard. The factory will implement the HACCP and IFS standard to ensure the processing safety.
Again MMPY has been integrally involved in the growing and production and will be looking to market these products to the same customer group throughout the world. A new state-of-the-art cannery is currently being constructed to exceed 1000 FCL per year.
